LAGANI ACT

In 2010 Soleace was engaged to undertake Remedial works to the Lagani Building in Canberra.

The building in 2001 received awards for “Excellence in Building” and the owners felt prestigious to be part of the building.

The building which was constructed on a precast concrete flooring system and was also built using variations of steel, concrete, brick, render and blue board.
As the building aged, the facades deteriorated and all of the balconies began to fail. This was caused by the fact that no control or movement joints were used in the façade, instead a liquid membrane was used in the construction of the balconies.

The Body Corporate was eager to restore the building to its original condition; Subsequently Soleace was engaged on behalf of the Body Corporate to undertake repairs to the entire building. Soleace was to provide solutions to the leaking balconies and the failing facades taking into account the various materials used in its initial construction and the weather extremes the building endured in the ACT climate.
